Today we’re comparing the stock plugin ReaFIR (in compressor mode) to Baby Audio Smooth Operator for the task of removing harsh resonances in a recording.

In the comments of my last video on Smooth Operator I was told ReaFIR can do a similar thing in compressor mode so let’s find out!

My thoughts:
I think ReaFIR does a pretty decent job in some situations if you take your time, but can sound much worse and is harder to use overall compared to Smooth Operator.

I think its worth buying dedicated tools for special situations if it provides finer control, better sound, or better workflow.
