AVA Music Group is back with another absolute banger KONTAKT Instrument: PRISM Retro Pop. They have again asked me to try it out and make a video.

Disclaimer: I received this library for free for promotion

Much like their original PRISM Modern Pop library, the Kontakt instrument allows you to select from 10 combinations of Kicks, Snares and Claps, and Closed and Open Hihats that work together to inspire production. Additional sound shaping controls for each drum category make tweaking the sounds easy, if you even need to at all.

The instrument also has many snapshots/presets, and you can reassign the drums for new kit combinations if you prefer a certain drum. It’s all very intuitive and flexible within its limitations, if that makes any sense.

PRISM Retro Pop works with KONTAKT 6 Player or Full version.

Beyond the core sounds in the Kontakt instrument you also get a bonus pack of even more kicks, snares, claps, hihats, plus Cymbals, Toms, and loops from 10 demo tracks.

I love PRISM for the ability to provide inspiring drum sounds to allow me to start layering instruments quickly. It just works! I never need to surgically edit and process these drum sounds. They’ve been my go-to drums for electronic music since I first tried the original PRISM Modern Pop.

Now the hard part is choosing between PRISM Modern, or Retro in my next production.
