In this video tutorial from audio.tutsplus, David Bode chops up shaker samples and loads them into the free sampler Shortcircuit (Windows only). The concept will apply to other samplers like Kontakt and Geist also.

The most tedious part of preparing samples is naming files. Here’s a tip, let REAPER increment the file names for you when you batch export. Alternately you can use the glue function and use a batch rename tool. Way better than manually incrementing the export name as David does in the video.

    Nice tutorial! Although I have used Short Circuit for a couple years, I never tried to learn how to make my own samples. I will be doing it soon, now that I know.
