It’s been a while since we talked about using controllers with REAPER (It’s been awhile since we posted anything, but nevermind that), previously it was TouchOSC. I’ve just been made aware of “The world’s first multi-touch gesture remote for DAWs!” called m.phase and it officially supports REAPER. Check it out at mphase-studio.com
It’s nice to see a DAW controller taking a totally different approach to the UI. It’s designed to give visual feedback incidentally, but primarily it’s made to be used without looking at it. It seems that ergonomically this is much better than a traditional virtual mixer layout, I have no idea if it works well in practice.
If any of the readers has an iPad and wouldn’t mind testing, I’d love to get a review up on the blog.
