I got a message this week from Kyle about his sound design work on a new animated short called Zero Day. He wants to share his REAPER project files and the SFX library he created for this project.
The project files are really interesting to go through and this SFX library (2.8GB) has your needs covered from atmospheres to wobbles. Certainly fills a gap I had in my personal sound library.
Check out the short film, then jump down to the download links below.

My name is Kyle Vande Slunt and I’m a sound / game audio designer and a vocal advocate and user of Reaper for the last eight years.
I’m writing today to inform you of my latest work: Zero Day. I provided the sound design and music for Beeple’s animated short film. I’ve released the entire Reaper project and session files along with an entire SFX library of content created for and inspired by the project. This is probably one of the larger and more complex Reaper projects I’ve done and thought the Reaper community could get some use out if it.

What do you think guys? Ask some questions in the comments below and I’ll do an interview with Kyle.

Amazing!
Wooo that’s a very rare kind of ressource !
Of full 2.8 gigas projects !
Thanks you for your generosity ! 😀
I have no doubt we can learn a lof of things in it 🙂
Thanks X-Raym! I hope it’ll do some good as well.
This is incredible! Kyle you are a true sound design hero. This is incredibly generous of you to share for free and I can’t wait to go through it and see how you made these sounds. My question for you is what techniques do you use when creating Sci-Fi UI sounds and how do you approach UI sounds in general?
Bonus question: Same but for “magic” elements.
Thanks Nick! Honestly, anything can work for Sci-Fi UI sounds. Obviously synths are used heavily but you can use almost anything but just make sure the sounds have sharp attacks, and low decay/sustain volume envelopes. Things like SoundMorph’s Galactic Assistant are also very useful. For magic it could literally be anything. The most random things end up making magic sounds. It really depends on what kind of magic and the character or thing that magic is coming from. I’ve had luck with black powder, ocean waves/water, different kinds of wind, and of course synths
Wow. Amazing.
Thank you very much!
Amazing.
Really appreciate the “Share is Love” concept by some generous people.
Keep on spreading this good vibe.
Good Luck (y)
Thanks Farshad! I feel the same way – “Share IS love”
Amazin work Kyle! What software did you use for the visual?
Videos is by Beeple, there’s some information on the Vimeo page
Would love to hear something about the Kyle’s film mixing approach. What I mean by that – how is he handling big sessions with huge number of tracks (usually the case infilm sound edit) withouth advanced automation features (like preview).
That is just awesome sharing. We need an interview, please
Like all who replied I am really impressed with your work really cool and thank you for sharing your tools, what a huge gift.
