Great tips. It’s unfortunate that feedback routing isn’t simply allowed all the time for MIDI only…independently of audio.

As it is now, enabling feedback routing for audio (aside from the obvious risk of audible feedback) disables plug-in delay compensation which can result in tracks playing slightly out of sync when certain plugins are added.

I intend to use feedback routing exactly as you’ve demonstrated to keep Reaper as uncluttered as possible during live use on stage.

As a new Reaper user, poor multi-out VST hosting was almost a deal-breaker for me. This video saved the day.

    However:
Somehow adding another send (to reverb bus in this case) on any of my new aux tracks stops them from routing its midi back to my kontakt
Is there any reason why an audio send, in addition to the midi send to kontakt, would do this?
    thanks much

Oh. My. God! This is absolutely amazing! I had been using your original setup for so long with Garritan’s Personal Orchestra, but seeing a way to combine your MIDI track and Audio track is just a complete revelation to me.

Thank you so much for this video!

You have saved my butt with this one. I’m work with a number of E/W libraries and have been setting up these ENORMOUS projects with literally hundreds of tracks. And because the sessions are so confusing it takes me 10x longer to finish anything.

But now, using your method above I can get to work faster and not wear out my eyes in only a couple hours of composing.

    THANK YOU!

Hey brother. I found a snag. You can’t apply insert effects to these output channels. Once the insert is turned on, the output is muted.

I tried Post Pan, Post FX and Pre FX settings on the send, but none of them worked.

Have you thought of any solution?
