Finally, an updated video on the way I set up an album for mastering.
See how I lay out the tracks in seconds with a custom action, gain staging, the monitoring FX chain and more.

Reaper blog,
Nice tutorial on setting up an album to be mastered. Really helpful for musicians looking to move forward in their careers.

As usual a very good tutorial.
If you find yourself doing a lot of EQ down in the 60 Hz to 200 HZ range and your mix does not sound the same on other speaker systems, the problem may be with your speaker placement. Worth looking at this article on Boundary Zone Interference.

Hi you can use auto_rename takes action(sws) and strip file extension preset to get rid of .* more easier and then create your regions.
Found something like that soon after publishing the video. Definitely one of the areas I could improve on workflow there.
Is there any way you could clarify that, meaning with the updated action list? Not sure why, but Im not finding the first “SWS” action among the list
do you have the SWS Extension installed?

I do now, thanks!
Could you point me to any resources for how to render an entire album with all the names tracks etc? Thanks!
Hi Jon,
Can you please explain the naming convention of ‘/MasterV1/$region_masterV1’ in your ‘file name’ box in the render menu? What’s going on there? Thanks, Timo
