I recently came across a really great series of videos from sound designer Will Tonna where he recreates the sounds of the weapons in DOOM (2016) for a showreel.

Episode 1 of the behind-the-scenes look for my linear re-design of Id and Bethesda’s 2016 Doom reboot. We look at the Asset workflow and designing the sounds of the shotgun / grenade launcher from the ground up.

Will uses REAPER for designing the sounds, Wwise to create variations, then REAPER again for syncing the sounds to the video.

The first episode is on the Shotgun and there is a ton to see and learn. I love when people share their workflow for and can’t wait to see more!
