iZotope just released their Vocal Doubler plugin for free so today we’re comparing it to some of the other free and paid options. Which is your favorite?
01:20 – Dry Vocal
01:35 – iZotope Vocal Doubler
02:46 – Stillwell CMX
05:00 – Acon Digital Multiply
06:22 – SoundToys Microshift
07:30 – ValhallaDSP UberMod
My favorites continue to be Microshift and UberMod, but I’m adding iZotope’s Vocal Doubler to my mixing template as well.
Of course you can use this type of plugin for more than just vocals. I’m also using this doubling effect on synths, guitar solos, and even percussion. Thickness, stereo width, and subtle movement, I’m a big fan of these.
