Last week the 6.05 update to REAPER was release and at first glance it seemed like a minor maintenance update. There’s actually a few great things in there worthy of a tutorial, so here we are.

00:34 – Render: support for secondary render format
02:24 – MIDI editor: action to set custom color map per track
options to use theme color for selected note body and/or border when coloring by track or media item
05:28 – Automation items: when copy/pasting media items, also copy/paste all selected automation items (when “envelope points move with media items” is OFF)

Another great update from Cockos! That 2nd render option is going to make a lot of sound people happy.

NOTE- the video was updated on March 11 to correct a mistake with the automation items copying

Not sure but the latest update doesn’t seem to allow me to select which inputs to use from my interface when trying to record. Please help!

try Arming the track, the input box should show. This can be set to always show in the theme adjuster. See my reaper 6 FAQ or what’s new in 6.0 videos for more details.

After you change your theme color, you have to select “Use theme color for selected note body” twice before it actually changes color on the notes…it kept me busy for hours and without your video I was still on it now, thx John!
