On April 25 REAPER version 4.40 was released.
This version added a new major feature, Timestretch markers for much improved ‘elastic audio’ workflow without splitting items.
Also of note are improvements to MIDI overdub recording;, ReaSamplomatic5000 media import; ReaTune sidechain input added; and Tab to transient accuracy improved.

- Tab transient: threshold is checked post-take/item gain
- Video: preserve rotation setting when duplicating/splitting items
- VST: improved bridging behavior with embedded windows
- Windows: topmost button tweaks to better work with embedded bridged plug-ins
