Tim from Nektar demos the Panorama keyboard controller with REAPER for Sonic State.

The P4’s software seems to integrate really well with REAPER, instruments and effects. I really like that the plugin controller mapping seems to be very straightforward and the plugins don’t need to be wrapped like with Novation’s Automap, which means you don’t need to change your existing projects.

This controller seems to cover all the essentials and then some – full size keyboard; lots of assignable knobs, sliders and buttons; 12 finger drum pads; automatic mapping to plugins.

Could this be the ultimate keyboard for REAPER users?

I need a 88 key master keybord for use in the studio with Reaper. does anyone have any experince with the Nektar Impact LX88? Mainly in regards to compitibility with Reaper and the playability?

Any chance anybody knows why, with the panorama P1, the macro editor just wont show up? Its frustrating. The potential of P1 with reaper is great – before, when the macro editor actually showed up, I managed to set it up so Ï could load plugins with it (action open menu and setting up tab and enter functions) – and you can actually write small scripts to make it load go to 3rd party plugs just like he is doing with the reaEQ. Im using reaper 5.1, win 10, latest integration software. Any help greatly appreciated. Best,

Figured out. If any shares the experience: run the installer again, no need to check the “driver” box. Sorry for posting out of place. Best.

I am torn between this and the X touch from Behringer. Originally wanted the 8 motorized faders but this looks very cool.

I just got mine 5 days ago. I’m in love. Everything integrates SO well with Reaper, it’s insane. I come from the Novation Impulse 49 which was exhausting to map. Sometimes Automap would just not work, and mapping all the plugins and stuff into it was quite painful. I got so tired of fighting it. Having the roll and arpeggiator was really nice, but I always had to put in the tempo manually on the keyboard because it could never read Reaper’s tempo. And half of the transport didn’t work. But with the Panorama, everything seems to be mapped one way or another by default, the transport works beautifully well, the play also works as a pause… and it’s so easy to change plugin mappings internally, no more Automap crap. I literally mapped all my eq’s the way I wanted in like 20-30 mins. Not EVERY parameter because you are limited to 8 rotatory encoders and 5 toggles per “page” (you have “home” with your main assignments, and 3 “pages” for extra assignments) and it’s easier to move those things with a mouse, I think, but all the basics I have already mapped out. Assigning commands to the midi buttons is also very easy and extremely helpful. The motorized fader is incredibly well thought out and responsive (given you have no grounding issues, it turns out I do so I gotta touch the metal plate of my preamps when moving it so I get smooth responses lol). Yeah, I hear some of you, I wished I had ALL motorized faders, but honestly, I was so exhausted from the poor Novation support for Reaper that I just wanted something to be plug and play. And DAMN this does just that. I even assigned buttons to bypass effects, mapped my drum machine how I wanted to the pads, and just everything has been not only a smooth transition but much more. I can’t recommend this keyboard enough! Just know you need an extra usb micro cable for power for the motorized fader (same with the Behringer). I got my Panorama P6 used actually, for $340 with shipping. It was a no brainer, and the best investment I’ve done in a long time!
