In this video Jon challenges himself to mix a song in 1 hour using the SoundToys 5 bundle. No reverb, no parametric EQ, no subtle compression and not a lot of time.
Can it be done in one hour? NO! More time is needed for automation, checking references and fine tuning. But still this was a fun challenge and should be a good intro to some of the SoundToys plugins if you haven’t tried them before. There are loads of REAPER and mixing tips in this video.
Plugins used
SoundToys Sie-Q
Decapitator
EchoBoy
Microshift
PrimalTap

Bought the SoundToys bundle as a xmas present to myself – fantastic plugins!
Just a thought, it would be great if you did a mix challenge with ONLY the plugs that come with or are easily available freebees. A lot of the Rea* plugs are constantly some of the more highly regarded freely available plug-ins.
I have done that a few times already!
My free mixing course is 100% reaper plugins
the bonus video in MIRV1 is remixing with reaper plugins
I mixed an acoustic song using reaper plugins
and another time I used stillwell plugin demos.
